TGD grey n/a on ebay

Post by saintjamesy89 »

Saw this on ebay whilst perusing, looks rather nice! Low mileage, nice interior and well cared for by how the advert sounds. Initially I thought the starting proce was steep, especially as it has no tax as of today, but it's clean, low mileage and well cared for so probably worth it. If I hadn't bought the TXD, I quite like the triton green in a non-sporty model, i've only ever seen TZD or similar with the colour.

If it were a TGD Turbo, I reckon it's fetch big money (BX wise!).

Tom, Albeit only having covered 80k the drivers seat bolster hasn't faired well, so I personally wouldn't place it in the 'Nice' category (more like good/average) !

Image

The seller states its had new clutch being changed only 10k which is a bonus but I wonder if the rear radius arm bearings have been overhauled (As they normally start failing any-time after covering the 65k mark) would be worth asking the seller the question if anyone's interested in it ?

Also note that the paintwork is 'Metallic Grey' rather than 'Triton Green' which can easily be seen in the video (if the E-bay photo's have confused you but the listings even states Grey) ?

The seller has given it a good/honest description, however with the nasty dented sill (Probably when its fallen of the O/E jack I'd guess after viewing the video) and having no PAS fitted they may not even get any takers for it at that price ?

But as its only a three day listing it won't be long when we find out !

If its a forum members BX, good luck with the sale !

:)

Hmm I think it's quite a nice old bus, we had a new TGD in 91, and within 2 years/50k the drivers seat was getting frayed.

I was unsure about the colour, but the 5th photo looks very much like triton green, I do have my laptop screen on dim so maybe that affected it? I like the TG spec, especially the wheel trims and tweed seats :)

Start it at £1 and set the reserve where you want it, always proves to work.

No surprise no bids. Can't imagine there's a demand for cars with no power steering these days, especially with a heavy diesel engine sitting over the steered wheels. Seller says it means less to go wrong, does that include the drivers shoulder joints.

I cant see the problem with motors with no power steering, bit heavy when slow but not a problem when on full chat. Its something you get used to and remember, all motors were like this once. Yaz all getting soft!!

I see it's back up on ebay, for the same price. I wonder why he didn't reduce the price? You'd have thought an auction with no bids is quite sufficiently pointed...

Still think its a nice example, but the format is wrong, and power steering would put people off.
