This is a good, interesting and helpful site - thank you, administrators! As a devoted BX fan, I wish I'd discovered it years ago.
I am looking for another BX diesel estate (as I have posted elsewhere) and have received various responses (thank you, folk) which I plan to pursue. But I am making this particular post here rather than cluttering up the "Sale and Wants" forum since this is a more general comment / enquiry.
I would be interested to know how often BX diesel estates (turbo or non-turbo) come up for sale. I've had a look through the last 12 months posts, and there seem to be about half-a-dozen or so per year, Is that roughly what other people find? Have there been fewer or more in previous years, do you reckon?
I ask for the obvious reason: if I miss one, how long do you reckon I'm likely to need to wait, on average, before another one is advertised?

Re: BX Diesel Estates
You're probably right in terms of cars offered for sale by members, but if you keep your eye on the Spotted section there are often cars spotted on eBay being posted up (usually by RxBx!) Probably at least one estate a month.
Historically, cars don't seem to sell quickly on here, as most of us already have our fill! For that reason, if I was selling I would probably put it on eBay - this also avoids the tricky question of value and just lets the market decide. So I'd look in the Spotted section more often if I were you; often the more experienced members can read between the lines a little in the adverts and give more of a picture about the car.

Depending on how fussy you are over spec, condition and location, you should be able to find one easily enough. There were far less made than the hatches, and the relatively hard life many lead means really good ones are rare, but good useable motors without too many jobs needed are still out there.

A few years ago Stuart you could guarantee within a few days another slightly tatty 100+ miler would show up, those have all been driven to death or are now in the hands of enthusiasts, be prepared to buy one that needs work as finding one that perfect wont happen.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....
