Rust in Peace...
Rust in Peace...
Hello there per my other post and as promised a few pics of the BX's and other Citroens languishing as my friends place in the Peterborough area. Quite a few of them have come from salvage auctions and have varying degrees of damage along side the usual Citroen complaints!
GTI auto damaged:
Selection of others including a 1.4 estate, 19RD, 16TGS, 19TRS.
This is a 1.9 diesel sporting peugeot alloys and was exhumed from a scrapyard and run for two years until recently. Plans are for it to return to the road (much like the others!!)
There's a couple with HAM on the number plates which I found amusing:
The silver one is a diesel auto and I had that running recently.
This is a TZD turbo acquired relatively recently and worth saving:
A few more; the white ish one is a leader:
This is a GTi with a naff engine, but there's another crunched one with a good engine. My estate was the same colour when I got it:
I quite liked this one when I got it going a few years back. It's 1.4 petrol with ropey head gasket:
A tidy Athena:
Another TZD that was almost ready for the road a few years back when I was doing by estate:
And a few more:
This one is recent and goes quite well apparently:
Same can't be said for this one:
Bit of hide and seek and funny business with a Diane:
The only Mk1 onsite. Run buy the owner for some years. Diesel, 300k and scrapped with the DVLA before the interest in Mk1's grew:
Think that's a BX in there...

Thanks for posting - seems a shame, but if your friend is willing to let bits go from some/all of them then better than being cubed, which I guess would otherwise have been their fate.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph!! I nearly had what mds141 (Mark) would call a 'gentleman's' moment' there for a minute! Quite an impressive pile of stuff.

Ahh! This is what franklin Rugg was on abouts, but wouldn't reveal the location. If there's parts for sale I would be interested.
Couple of rarities but most are parts cars.

Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....
Re: Rust in Peace...
Yes a lot of them really are parts only and I would imagine the majority would be for sale. A few of the better ones have been saved including my estate, another the same with and few more miles and a GTi. The green and lichen make some of the straighter cars look worse than they actually are... honest! my white estate was mostly green.

Pile of something certainly!
Yes I've met Franklin and his father. Quite a few have been broken and there are various bits stored in the cars. The owner can be a little sharp on price at times but always open to negotiation. Buying a whole car would be the most cost effective option I would think...

Would it be possible to visit this gent, he's obviously a bx fan so wouldn't mind meeting him, I've been told he doesn't welcome strangers but you know him personally.

Like the 16TZS and the DTR turbo. Shame for the rest of them, some very interesting BXs there.

Ho ho! I've asked previously about those and they are not being sold separately I don't think. If you wanted to buy the whole car or 3 that might be a different matter...djm666 wrote:Could I have a frontbumper lip? Not a fat lip please.

Hello Andy, no idea if the red car has one and it's been down on its haunches for I don't know how many years.Mothman wrote:Realy badly need a spare tyre carrier for a MK 1.

Forgot to add some of the other Citroens - hope this doesn't offend the purists!
Low mileage ZX - well worth saving. Think it's only got about 40k on it:
A fairly solid Ami:
A smart ZX. Needed a wing and bonnet which has been done, plus a diesel the same colour but needing a headgasket.
Quite a few xantias:
The odd XM:
and a pair of AX GT's:

Good lord! What a collection!? 'Indeed, 'fairly solid' for an Ami, but absolutely bolloxed for any other car!
