I'm confused, is this the one you've scrapped or the one you're keeping on the road with the one you scrapped and which is which? - are you offering a car for the stand or just pointing at 'zample pictures?

Very vague, you hiding something?

Sandre, no the one in the pics is going to be scrapped but it isn't yet. My thoughts were to show the opposite end of the concours spectrum, in particular how (particularly in France) these are work horse vehicles, owned (typically) by people with not huge amounts of cash and thus end up looking tatty (like mine) just through having a hard life with as little cash as possible spent on them.

Offering the car for exhibition was my thought in my earlier post but I've realised it goes against my plans time wise. However, if it was deemed an appropriate car for the exhibition or if there are no better candidates, then I'd take her to the exhibition and keep her on the road till next June.

I could do with a swift decision mind if possible and I'm more than happy to be 'out sheded' so I can scrap her asap

I would like to tentatively offer my GT for the stand, i'm limited by money at the moment and time too. I'd really like it to be ready by November, once it's running again it's plain sailing really. Progress is being made though so finger crossed :D

When it was last running. It'll be cleaner than this if it's coming, also it's had new rubbers (so no overspray making it look tatty) and new opera windows too :D

2014?

I suggest once the 'deadline' has passed, we list the nominated cars in a single post, and then members can just state (publicly or privately) which one they'd like most on the stand. A poll only allows 10 options, and I'm sure we're well over 10 cars now!

Sorry I have not been on here for a while. But I have to say fantastic news on the stand at the NEC.
Which ever cars get chosen they will be carrying the banner for all BX's and will hopefully raise the profile of the mark to new heights.
Whatever happens it will be good.
Please accept my full support even though I will not be there in person.

Regards Kermit.

OK, as many of the nominees and voters will be at the National, I think I shall ask Mr Moderator to sort out the poll sometime during the week after that, and allow 2-3 weeks for voting.

Any more nominations? - get 'em in before the National please!

Des, please would you be able to confirm whether you support the nomination made for your St Tropez, or whether you're "out" on that one for this year? - thanks :)

Yes, I'm happy for the St Tropez to be in for nomination as 'Vanilla Pod of the Show' but I will have to cover it up in a brown organic breathable car cover and dangle it from the roof...

OK, having just run through this thread again to check what's what etc:

Vanny, please confirm whether you're nominating Jazz, and post link to gallery/blog?
Jaba - unless you're planning on bringing half a ton of snow with you, please do you have a pic you can post of the whole car?

Thanks - and nominations still open ... get 'em in before the National though.

Yes. Many of the candidates and potential voters will be at the National, so the idea was for as many as people as possible to see as many of the candidates as possible "in the metal" then start the voting, run that to about mid-August then announce The Chosen Few. This still leaves 3 months for the owners to panic/tart up paintwork if they want to, etc.

Obviously we want the process to be as democratic as possible, we also need to make sure we show the best mix of cars possible. So if y'all vote in 3 red Mark 2 hatches (we only have space on the stand for 5 cars) then I reserve the right to blatantly fiddle the results.
