Milage is 180k roughly.

I recieved an email from the guy who was initially bidding.....he has seen this thread and of course is upset.

I take back anything I may have said....its all in jest. But I'm bidding because I do want the car.

You want it and we know you`ll give it a good home so best of luck. I think it was pretty obvious you were joking and seeing as you`d rather do it up than break it I can`t see any harm in that.
I buy the odd car to break for parts and if I get out bid because someone wants to save it then that`s a ) fair enough and b ) life!

Wow.

A taxed (7 months) and MOT'd 19GT for £132.

I'd say you got a bargain there and no mistake.

Looking forward to see some photos of it.

(But it does make me wonder what my un-taxed, un-mot'd and rather tatty 19GT digit is worth. 20p?)

Probably that comment "upset" him or her.
Who cares - if you want it and are prepared to pay what you bid its "tough". My first BX cost only a tenner less than this and turned out to be a right bloody lemon, mis described by the seller too who let on it was his car (and he is an "enthusiast" quite well known in 2CV circles) when it turned out to belong to some one else and was more shagged than you could possibly imagine.
Good luck is what I say, it seems a nice car for not a lot of cash.

Tim: Thanks but no, although mine was the smoothest BX I've been in and had bags of character, it was piss poor slow and did 20mpg  :P Keep at it son!

As for the GT, I picked it up tonight. I'm over the moon with it, EVERYTHING on this car works! I'm as shocked as you. It drives beautifully and it goes well....something I wasn't expecting.
The body is tatty in places, but overall could look nice. Mechanically it seems very good.

Very chuffed with that, it made the 70mile journey home without complaint and it was good fun.
