As the saying goes 'They keep coming out of the Woodwork' but as this has got a reserve on the listing I'm sure its going to be a four figure amount going on what Tim's n/a 1.9 DTR recently achieved !

However reading thro' the sellers listing again as its on SORN it doesn't mention any MOT/TAX on it so it could end up being quite a good buy ?
E-bay Seller wrote: I AM LISTING ON BEHALF OF MY FATHER HIS OLD COLLECTION OF CARS - UNFORTUNATELY HE IS NO LONGER ABLE TO DRIVE AND HAS GIVEN UP HIS STORAGE FACILITY - UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS AMAZING ONE OWNER SINCE 1986 WITH ONLY 45,000 MILES THE MILEAGE IS GENUINE AND IS BACKED UP BY PAPERWORK CITROEN BX 1.9 GT CARBURETTOR SERIES 1 CAR.

TOTALLY ORIGINAL CONDITION NOT HAVING HAD ANY PAINT OR WELDING - NO HEAD GASKET OILD LEAKS OR GEARBOX CRUNCHING HERE - EVERYTHING WORKS AND ORIGINAL SUSPENSION UP AND DOWN WITH NO LEAKS AND INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL RADIO CASSETTE -I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU VIEW BEFORE BIDDING - THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN TODAY AND THE CAR IS COVERED IN DUST THE PAINT IS SHINY WHEN CLOSE AND THERE ARE NO MARKS WHATSOEVER - THE CITROEN CURRENTLY ON SORN DUE TO MY DADS ILL HEALTH - I HAVE STARTED THE AUCTION WITH A MODEST RESERVE GOOD LUCK.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WITHDRAW THE VEHICLE FROM SALE AS THIS WILL BE ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE SHORTLY - NO WARRANTY IMPLIED CASH ON COLLECTION
Good luck whoever secure this one !

Edit:- Just noticed the same seller has a ROVER 820 SI (another project for Tim maybe) and a VOLVO 740 GL maybe Mickey Taker will be interested in this one ?

So it does all look like a genuine sell up of fathers vehicle collection :(

Horrible thing, but for someone who likes them that's pretty special!

I quite like the Rover 800 series. Especially in fastback guise. Had one for a while in the early '90's. Very smoooth and relaxing. Almost as nice as an XM in some respects.

Currently 2 -Bids and standing @ £740 !

I'm only guessing but IMHO this one may end up @ over the £2k possibly even nearer to £3K mark if you can remember what the non-running Gold MK1 B650 CHJ with 5,800 miles realised 15 months ago (£1850 hammer price+ taxes):-

If that burnt oil I'd be soooooo all over it I'd spoil the paintwork!!! God how I wish my Dads mk 1 fell into my hands. It fell into my sisters hands, with a recon engine, and within a few months of ownership it was crashed into, repaired by Dad and then shortly later scrapped with 'shot suspension ' Dad bought that car in 1985 (B plate) for £6k with thé same mileage.
Sorry for thé french angle, appropritate as it is, but i just mistaenly changée toi French. P.s. Key board key lay out is wierd

typically when I have no funds, three of my passions are combined on ebay at the moment ,

Well the DTR fetched £1900. but that did have 12 months MOT, but had nearly 4 times the mileage although it is rarer than a GT.
