Under the wiper offer!
My wife has just come home with a big smile and said she had been propositioned, she came out of her mothers house to see a young 20-25 year old lad putting a note under the windscreen wiper of our TZD, as she approached he asked her if she knew who owned the car as he had seen it several times knocking about town and really wanted to buy it. The note on the back of a 'Trax Sivlerstone ultimate performance day ticket' reads "If you ever want to sell this car please ring 0070000000 I love it! John.

I had the very same thing a few weeks back, found a note under blade reads,

I had one in 2004 - I called the note writer back and we had a good old chat about BXs! Apart from a lady in a garage offering to buy it the following year, no more offers since

Only stickers under the windscreen have been 'Take it away as Scrap' type....

I have actually put a few notes under the wipers of old citroens over the years, sometimes even got a response

I think the guy I spoke to was Peter, in Gloucester...anyone on here?

Some years ago i was driving a very beaten up looking yet very solid 1971 LHD dyane 6. I answered a knock at the door to speak to the bloke there who was offering to pay scrap prices for the old cars on the drive.
I pointed out the current tax disc in the dyane and explaine di used it daily.
He seemed totally bemused that the car was working and in use

Sounds like the sort of responses I get about Timex - people seem to assume it's trailered everywhere for some reason...
I used to get offers to scrap the Wartburg all the time, a couple of offers to buy the series one, and several people trying to buy various bicycles over the years.

same happened to me down under
Had the TRi parked up for a couple of weeks in one place and a neighbour called the council as they though it was abandoned.
Few weeks further on I had a note asking if i'd consider selling the car...
biggest problem is that it is usually worth way more to you than any reasonable market price..
I still have kept the number ..maybe just as reminder of said cars uniqueness....
