trying out my new user name..getting GT air con working

So new year coming and new user name...(thanks Matt)

The old GT's air cond was out of service..but the good news was that there was still some pressure in the system despite being unused for at least 9 years.

I had a new receiver dryer to go in, but decided that cracking open a more or less sealed system would create more problems than not.. So I had the system re-gassed, spent the next few days sorting the electrical side of the system (seven relays just for the A/C!!) ..and presto chango I now have an nice cold system. Could be even cooler had i popped in the new R/D but happy with the result..

I had to follow the wiring diagram for a Mk2 but it was close enough..
But....Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a MK1 A/C ? Would be handy

I should have done this ages ago..but...just in time for some hot weather... =D>

I do think you now need a 'Prince' type signature strip with "Formerly known as ....." :wink:
