What should I ask for my BX

Hey All,

I have my BX up for sale - only on here initially but she will go on ebay or autotrader soon.

What is a 1990 TZD Turbo 130k long MOT in good mechanical order, good interior but faded lacquer peel paint worth.

I thought about £750 is this about right?

Your thoughts?

Start high, you can always come down, but you cant go up!

Get a selection of current pictures showing the car, its faults, mileage etc.

I think £750 is a fair price as you can pay that for a set of tyres for a new car these days!

£750 should be the minimum you should take, try as an auction with a £750 reserve and see how high it goes?

I'm with Defender on his idea, if you overprice it, no sale, price it cheap enough to get some bids & then it will sell at whatever the market rate is on any given week.

If you do a lot of inside & outside cleaning of the car , get some great pics, detail some important history so new potential owners know they don't have to worry about getting the cambelt done, rear arm bearings etc done anytime soon, & then the price becomes tempting. If there are known faults, list them as well, an honest car is more likely to sell tbh than one that sounds perfect, most people know there is no such BX regardless of price & what worked last month may not work today.

That's an excellent bit of advice and applies across the board. Deserves to be a stickie on the BX For Sale section.
