howmanyleft,co.uk. More than before it appears.
What a pleasant surprise, a website called www.howmanyleft.co.uk, tells me that there are 29 valvers on the road AND that last year there were 19. All other models are, sadly, reducing. My Meteor for example is one of only six. If you visit the site, seek out the alphabetic list in order to see the specific model. So, there are buddies out there bringing dead 16Vs back to life! Blimey.
A BX fan since buying a 1983 1.6 in 1987 and subsequently a 1.9GTi, three 16valvers and a diesel Meteor. Their deaths have us done parted, save for one 16V sold for restoration, hopefully underway.

Not sure about that site's accuracy. My G-reg tri auto estate has been on the road continuously since birth, but isn't listed!

That site is sadly only as accurate as the data put into it, and seeing as that came from the DVLA.....
