Max's 1989 19TRS auto

Post by maxgreenwood »

Here she is, bought and recovered from Kerry in Ireland.

Done:
Oil change
New dist cap, rotor, cleaned leads
Accumulator sphere
New alternator belt
Tightened HP belt
Adjusted autochoke

To do:
New numberplates - they got stolen while it was parked on the road can you believe!
A really good coolant flush and renew
Diagnose fast tick time <1 sec - pressure reg return hosing out LHM into tank
Diagnose engine ticking under load, seems exhaust gas related. Possible oil cleanse treatment.
Strip, clean /renew brakes
ATF change(s), although fluid ok and changes well.
New tyres
New front seats
Refurbish alloys
Refurbish interior - needs a real good clean.
Check extent of rust (not too much - little salt on roads over here)
Get heater fan working
Check out air conditioning
Salvage perishing rear spoiler

What on earth is that rear wiper off?! It is further proof (if it were needed) that Olympic Blue is the bestest of colours.

God knows!

yes it is a nice colour. The front wings, tailgate and to a lesser extent the doors are very faded tho. He had the bonnet roof and bumpers resprayed so it does look nice washed.

The wiper is the least of my worries! Wait til I show you a picture of the coolant. Or what should be coolant.

Er.. I'm not Irish!
Just a blow in.

I think I'm going to have to move this BX on I just don't have the time to fix it up all the way and space is an issue. Coolant flush this weekend then all the essentials will be done.

I'll keep the forum posted
