Has anyone got one of these covers
https://www.carscovers.co.uk/CITROEN-CA ... -1994.html
Any thoughts or comments appreciated
By way of background.
I have a bx that was garaged all it’s life.
I don’t currently have dry storage so it will be out in the elements. Not ideal. So UV protection is probably a must
Thanks

Re: Car covers. Has anyone knowledge about this one ?
The Stormforce cover is supposed to be the best but I had issues with the one I got for My Morris Traveller. I had the cover on for several weeks during the winter a few years ago and when it came off the car had suffered badly, micro blistering all over the roof and soft spots and mildew all over the timber frame. They are supposed to be breathable but I found the cover trapped moisture underneath and caused no end of trouble.
If the cover is removed every couple of days and the car checked for any damp then probably it would be OK but other than that I would avoid Stormforce.
I got a folding framed cover for my Mini called a Trikehome and the car fits nicely inside and is very well protected, if you could find a bigger version then that would be 100% better than a cover.

The cover on the camper behind the Mini we had made by Thoroughbread Covers in Leeds is lighter and better than the Stormforce but care is still needed.

As Panky said, have one that doesn't touch the paintwork and allows airflow , I use covers but mines in a dry barn anyway
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Re: Car covers. Has anyone knowledge about this one ?
Not keen on car covers as a permanent solution having experienced one on a ZX. However, if you are looking at a cover and not the type suggested by Panky above, I would "invest" in a better quality product. The covers around the £50 mark are never going to be up to much. Have a look at this for examples. There is a premium to pay for perceived better quality so it's a case of finding the right cover at a fair price. The other issue is, some may be intrigued by the cover and tempted to take a look under if in an obvious spot.

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Fresh air, and out of direct sun, is all that's needed.
Air flow is a must.
If the cover clings to the car, you'll have a problem.

Never had much luck with covers in windy Lincs, lost a few tho.
I suspect at £50 that won't be tailormade to fit a bx, most likely a mid size universal jobby.
I had a so called x-large heavy duty cover on my bx estate, even with extra straps and cords to hold it in place the wind still ripped it to shreds in 6 months.

Can’t keep mine out of sunlight. So may have a cover for us protection.
Any cover will be off several times a week as I want to drive my bx

Down south. Less wind. Also it’s parked against the gable end of the house. That’s a good wind break.

Sadly the wife won’t have a folding one on the drive.panky wrote: Sat Apr 03, 2021 10:46 am The Stormforce cover is supposed to be the best but I had issues with the one I got for My Morris Traveller. Will have to wait u til we have finished the development and have a large hard standing space.
