Picked up my first BX today!
1989 1.9D
Looking forward to getting to know the car and no doubt spending money on it
First job - alternator
Had lights and wipers around 10 miles from home and felt like the car lost quite a bit of it's power.
Turned lights and wipers off and car got its grunt back.

Welcome! That's a well known car, that's been passed around a bit as of late and, started to look at little tired, we also have a busy Facebook page, finding a drivers seat may be doable,
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Hi Tim,
Ye I thought as much through doing some research on the car.
I can gladly say it's in safe hands now, I will be looking after him definitely (car was named Claude apparently)
I suspect it has a tired alternator, oil leak (still trying to find the source) and boot struts are knackered.
It's a shame though because it's service history is probably one of the most dedicated and complete I have ever seen. Literally invoices documents and forum stuff all very neatly presented in a folder.
It's my first BX and usually I'm Volkswagen through and through. I am now playing catch-up as I've never been remotely interested in Citroen but, I absolutely love the BX !

The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Hi James..
I do still have it, unfortunately the octopus split a few months ago.
It's still MOT'D
I do still really like the car but I must admit time is against me. I don't get nearly enough time as I'd like to get the octopus sorted.
Where are you based ?
