Er, I have a plan!, but it goes thus: BX T16 4x4 Activa. However T16's are hard to come by and expensive, sooooo, V6 24v 4x4 Activa.MULLEY wrote:Anyone going to make a 16v 4x4?
Watch this space (in about 5 years time....)

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I am thinking quite seriousley about it mate... the 12v V6 would be a walk in the park, the 24v less so, hence the 24v it would be!!
It could be done keeping the front wheel drive setup but I'll have to put some more thought into mating it to a 4x4......
I'm working on amassing the necessary bits and when I have sufficient piles of scrap cars everywhere I'll have a go at it. 4/5 years I reckon, got other jobs in the "to do" list first! Including (quite high on the list) a BX flat bed recovery wagon (then I can take both cars to rallies!!), it's been done with DS's and CX's but I've never seen a BX so figured I'd make one, and the scrapper I bought for bits for dad's BX will be the basis of it (seems a shame to waste it...)
Cheers

Now there`s something I really would love to see. I wonder how hard it would be to make a cheap version by turning an estate into a pick-up and mounting a Harvey Frost crane on the rear?

Well if you really wanted to make a beast with an indestructable transmission - go the 4TC route with a longer front, use something like a Range Rover 4.6 engine and transmission, and a pair of suitable diffs - like Sierra at each end. If you're lucky you will be able to get the front diff in somewhere around the engine and the back one will be no problem if you're handy with sheet metal. 4X4 trailing arms would probably be the easiest - but then if weight doesn't matter - Jaguar parts could be interesting and are partly hydraulically suspended if you get the right ones!
Bit like hard work for me!

Hhmm, I do like the noise V8's make.....
Sticking the engine in the back does give you almost limitless possibilities......
I still like the idea of having a standard (ish) looking BX with 5 comfy seats and outragous performance / handling...
Some more things to think about though!
Cheers
