Ah, that's probably me! As well as going to the monthly 2CV ARTists meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (all Citroen enthusiasts welcome - we have DS owners & allsorts come along), I've been helping a friend in Bristol restore an ex. Belgian Post Office AZU Weekender whenever I'm off shift, so I've been up & down the M5 quite a bit recently.

I don't know about issues specific to the 16v, but they do seem to turn up fairly frequently so I'd imagine finding one shouldn't be too difficult. Good luck with the search!

cool, i'm in a iron mountain 18 tonne going north on the M5,
that Belgian AZU is that the 6 wheeled CX/DS monster? they look fab!

I've always wanted a 16v but never got there yet I'd love a p1 16v as the look more special than the phase 2 16v but i'm open minded!

Nice to speak to you.

No, The AZU is the small bodied 2CV Van, in RHD for the post office, with extra windows and a removable rear seat in the back. You're probably thinking of the Loadrunner which I agree is a very cool vehicle, even if I'd have to park one both in front of my house and next door's

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

oh, and you should be able to get a usable 16v for less than a grand these days.
If you dont mind doing a bit of work to it.
They are about the most complicated of all production BX's, but they aint rocket science really.

ahhh, you'll be wanting www.asnewbx16valvesareusofbedminsterltd.co.uk!

erm, getting rarer by the week now mate, so there's a limited choice really.

www.bx16valve.co.uk/forum is usually a good bet, and of course the bay of E, but as with all things BX now, it may take time and the ability to walk away from a dog in the hope a better one will come along!

hi guys,

CBX16v is Simran from the 16valve forum.
He's my best mate from uni and actually got me into BXs selling me his 4x4.

The valver is far from standard.
It has regased XM spheres and the height correctors have been adjusted so the normal ride heigh position is lower.
The engine internally is the same but it has a megasquirt programmable ECU (all programmed on a laptop on his drive.. he'd do a run, save the results then change thigns where it was showing to be running lean/rich etc).
The manifold has been adapted to take Suzuki GSXR 750 throttle bodies too.
He took it to a dyno recently and tried different lengths of trumpets. He got 166bhp and I forget the torque figure. the dyno operator said that beyond peak torque the standard injectors were at 100% duty cycle already so the torque started dropping away. He thinks with uprated injectors 175-180bhp is quite likely.
I've driven in this car and it opened my eyes. It's so raw sounding and so quick. Although it's not a soft ride anymore, it's still more supple than most fast steel sprung cars I've been in.

the problem with simran is keeping his head on one project - he's on a motorbike now. He's currently putting a KTM 640cc 4 stroke single in an aprillia RS125 (2-stroke) frame. power will be up from 33bhp (on a good day just after a rebuild and providing no teenager has owned it) for the 125 to about 55bhp (from what I remember) for the KTM motor. Torque will be massively up too. This one I think will be a bridge too far :D If he can keep the front wheel on the ground I'll be impressed.

He's the kind of guy that likes talking to fellow BXers, would accept anyone with a bx that added him on facebook too. his projects are all on there. Simran Jugdev is his name. go have a look at his car.
