I think that's the best way to describe it - it is the side panel in the boot which has (or should have) a small lug sticking out to support the end of the parcel shelf. I haven't taken the broken one off mine so I don't know how big the whole panel is, but probably too big to easily post.
If anyone has one in the vicinity of North Wales, or on the way to Gloucester/Sheffield then I will cross your palms with silver...
