The original work done on Sophie's heater matrix eventually failed so i said to myself this morning, sod it, ile make a damned MK2 matrix fit. Did it and it works perfectly. The original problem of it not fitting was that the large rubber grommet that goes through the bulkhead pushes back just enough to cause problems. Brute force sorts this and so MK 2 stuff will fit a MK 1, thank god. Otherwise, i was considering joining up the 2 pipes behind the engine and not using her in bad weather[not that i do anyway but its nice to be warm in winter]. Just popped down to Malcolm's in St Leonards, gave her a thrashing and not a drop of water lost.
Now to decide to sell her or not.

Re: Heater matrix problems, sorted.
Its just knowing what and how to do it. Wish i had known initially, would have saved a lot of bother.
Its quite easy, can be done and MK 2 heater matrices will fit a MK 1 and this info will i hope help to keep a few more MK 1s alive.
