someone save this 16v

Post by Stinkwheel »

I spotte dthis advert on the bay...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-BX-GT ... 3a845b2b68" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its still complete and has a hydraulic line broken so wont rise etc. Its complete and he will sell for apparantly a firm 750 quid.

I can make up any 3.5mm line anyone may require or even 4.5mm if someone supplies the 4.5mm tubing itself.

Be nice to see it saved, i am unfortunately at a loss for storage and working on time due to other projects.

Oh i know he's dreaming. But i couldnt not pass on the info, just in case someone felt like chancing their arm and hassling him.

I hate how many once rare citroens are now gone or in single figures.

For instance, know how many visa Gti's there are on the road now?

Five.

Know how many Visa super X's?

None.

Unless someone steps up and saves 16v's then they are going the same way after the 205 oik cull of a few years back.

I can't even contemplate it, but it's very local to me if anyone wants assistance.

Edit: I've also got a trailer, so though I can't move it for free I might be able to save someone money and help save/salvage the car. It could be rotten as a pear underneath (lots of them are these days!)

£750? No way! £500 if the shell is good.

No one actually lists a car for what they really think they're going to get for it, but rather, stick a bit more on because they know someone is going to haggle or give it the old 'you're 'avin a laugh' etc. 500 quids about right for that car: it's now very rare, very lovely and it would be a tragedy to brake it.

I suppose if you want to think about it just in terms of utility, or market value and all that kind of stuff you will lose money, but I never think about getting a return on my cars or 'economic sense': It's a hobby that gives me an immense amount of pleasure and it would be unreasonable to keep wanting my money back!

Thats the way you have to think of it these days Paul.

Im about to put more money into the 16Txi than it will be worth for the foreseeable future, but its worth doing to me, being a 16 injected BX its a bit different and the body solidity warrants it.

I agree with paul's sentiments, looking at from a financial point of view when it comes to old cars as it wont stack up, I spent £3000+ on the DTR and sold it for £1900! why, I enjoyed the transformation and the end result.

Still cheaper than a new car and alot more interesting. There wont be any valvers left one day...

I take it this car is unknown. I would like one sometime but not great timing and I am not to sure I want a money pit right now. Ad's a bit short on detail, which tends to be bad news if they are a 'goner'. Means they have found a big prob.

Like the price on the 'bay...

For £1.99 I could get a cheap front subframe, and give the rest to Kitch... not far from me.
