Howdy folks
After a brief hiatus in BX ownership, it looks like I'm set for a return! I've done a deal involving cash money and my Discovery for Catsinthewelder's 19RD estate. I desperately need a long distance machine and some money! Especially as I may also yet be buying an XM...
I had a lengthy drive in an XM on Monday and it entirely reminded me what I've been missing. Nothing rides like a hydro-Cit! Look forward to complaints about clutch weight and poor gearchange...
Looks like I'm back to BXs!

19 Diesel estate, best BX from a practicality point of view these days IMO.
Welcome back mate, when you getting it? Will it be about by the weekend?

Welcome back (again!). And how is the cat by the way? Not heard from him in a while.

Doubt it'll be by the weekend sadly. He's putting it through an MOT and in return, I'm getting the radius arms on the Disco rebushed. Think Rich is ok.

I'm fine, just fancy a change for a bit.
There's been a French car on my drive since before I passed my test. I doubt there will be a huge gap before another one lands, may well be another BX.

As I well know Rich, it's sometimes good to have a break from BXs. Then, after a while, you realise what you are missing!

I'm hoping to tax mine at the beginning of March - it's only been 3 months since I last drove it (which was down to the rolling road session) but I'm missing being behind the wheel!

Good luck with the XM purchase Ian. Any advice just ask. One thing I will say is, buy one with plenty of history. I know it sounds obvious, but mine has had over 13 grand spent on it over the years and touch wood, it's payed dividends.

So, I shouldn't rush out and buy that 2.1 that's just appeared on Ebay then?

Re: Looks like I'm back to BXs!
I'm not saying don't Ian, but there's an awful of stuff to go wrong on an XM.
I bought mine off Patrick Rugg in September 2011. The previous owner bought it in March of the same year and between then and August 2011 spent nearly three grand on it.
It's just a case of buying one that's had all the major stuff replaced.
Mine has only failed to proceed twice. Once when the starter motor packed up and secondly when the auxiliary drive belt snapped, but to be fair, I knew the belt needed changing.

Re: Looks like I'm back to BXs!
See if you can last longer without a BX than me. I managed just over half a year!
Anyway, tomorrow is the big day. Don't forget the Citroen bits! I'd better pack the paperwork now or I'll forget something vital. Like the V5...
