Hi folks,
I am hoping to get a bit of a talking to here.
I am considering selling my Hurricane and moving away from old cars for a while. She is a lovely car she really is but I just have nowhere safe to keep ger over night and the car park I use just gets worse and worse
Unfortunately it makes sense if you don't have anywhere safe to keep it. Ideally cars of this age should now be in covered storage to help preserve them as long as possible.

Ok sorry, pampered! And being used in all weathers and left outside does degrade cars. I pay more than I should on storage but don’t want my cars outside.

I just contacted my local council and have done just that, its £10 a week so not cheap but I was amazed how quickly it was sorted (within 5 days)
I did this 3 years ago for extra storage and I'm still waiting !

That £520pa is easy to justify as a motoring cost when you consider what the annual depreciation of a much newer car would be each year.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.
And even more drastic we've just put an offer on house, so that after 17 years I might be able to finally park the BX off the street. There is one slight issue though, the "double garage" (to quote the estate agent) now has breeze blocks instead of doors which is a little inconvenient...
Anyone want to buy a terraced house in north Kent?!
I just built my own double garage to store my BX 16 Valve in for the Swedish Winter and I feel very happy and satisfied. I have planned for the garage in 10 years and now it is there. This winter there is no warming-up but for the next winter it will be at least 10 celsius in there. Maybe someone think it is not so warm but when it is minus 20 C outside it is comfortable in comparison.

Bit of a long commute!, breeze blocks shouldn't be hard to sort, the BX deserves a retirement away from the hustle and bustle.
It's long enough for me into London! Of course there is the risk that once in the garage it becomes out of site, out of mind. It will be wonderful to be able to work on cars under cover though.
I too have a nice double garage but it just means you can get twice as much crap in it.
