WANTED: BX19 non-turbo gearbox.

I've got a turbo diesel BE3 gearbox, it Will fit and work on a non turbo just slightly different ratio on 5th-about 100rpm lower, physically identical and your Driveshafts will also fit.

Thanks, but I think mine's a BE1 (it has reverse next to 1st)?

EDIT: have just read this...

The BE1/BE3 type g/b may be swapped between XU engine range - provided the original gearchange linkage are swapped too.
If not you will run into all sorts of problems locating the gearstick correctly - and selecting reverse.
Because its the g/b - not the linkage - that decides the location of reverse - you can NOT "move" the location of reverse gear on the stick by the linkage.

Do you have the gearchange linkage with the 'box? Cheers.

Which model(s) please? I know there are lots of cars fitted with XU(D) engines, but I understand that some have boxes with different ratios. I'm afraid I'm not an expert on these gearboxes at all!

A 1.9 petrol would be close ratio wise

Yes I have a set of gear selector rods c/w gearstick but not sure I've got the linkage or whether you need to change them for a BE3?

Have also found the pivot and one of the linkage selector rods approx 250mm long not sure I've got the other

TD has a different clutch cable and linkage as standard, so be sure to get the cable if you go the TD way.
