Yes, worth the money but seriously, when's the last time you needed one. If it goes bung you get a new resistor from an electronics shop and solder it on.

The fanon my 16v is either on or off so maybe worth having?

Check out the heater mod on the forum.
My fan was on or off turned out to be a crack in the track on the circiut board. ( get a tiny strand of copper wire and a soldering iron and solder lay the tinned copper wire in the crack and flow solder over it scrape away excess to give a smooth surface for the wiper to run on and HEY it works)
do the mod while your in there. its great you wont believe the air flow.
