In changing the headlamp bulbs on a C5 today, removing the side covers exposed the strut tops and spheres, or should they be called something else as they're more mushroom shaped. They're grey so we'll call them mushrooms
Anyway, I was quite shocked to see quite significant corrosion on the strut tops of this 03 plate car.
I wonder if the C5 is going to start popping struts up through the bonnet like elderly Xantias do any time soon?
If you have an early C5, it might be prudent to check Or have Citroen made them pop-proof in the C5?

The strut tops on my 51 reg C5 look OK, there is some light surface corrosion but you can still see the golden passivated finish in places. They don't look as if they're going to shoot through the bonnet anyday soon-as the C5 bonnet is made out of aluminium, not steel, it wouldn't present much of a barrier
