BX 17TZD For SALE

Post by [email protected] »

If you go to page 4 you'll find a bunch of pix of Bxaholic's shiny red Estate.
That's the car that's for sale.

Since I paid £500 to Mald. for it, I have spent the following:
£95 for hoses and fitting.
£50 for breather pipes and fitting.
£880 for top end work, including pressure testing and refacing head; gaskets, belts and ancillaries.
(This bill included rear discs, pads etc.)
£160 for starter motor and fitting (a rush job).
£80 for Front tyres.

There is one current issue that needs addressing: a tiny leak from the fuel pump, which won't get any better, but is getting worse only very slowly.

The car is taxed, tested, and ready to go.
There are spare wheels, mirrors, headlights etc.
There is a great wodge of paper history.

The interior is near perfect; the exterior is very good.

I'm intent on a Fiat 500 Abarth SS, damned old fool that I am, so I will listen to offers on the BX, before I eBay it.

Email me with a phone number, and I'll get back to you.

Paul.

Of what?

Sounds interesting, but I can't imagine you getting a massive amount for the car given that it has a diesel leak from the pump. I'm guessing that it's the accelerator shaft seal that has failed. Not a massive problem, but a problem none-the-less.

How much MOT/Tax does it have?

Despite a very (very!) vague description of what is actually a dynamic page arrangement on a forum, I'm guessing that this is the car in question.

This thread lacks a few things:

Pictures.
Current details of the vehicle.
Current location of the vehicle.
Price.

All of which are essential if the car is to stand the slightest chance of selling.

photos look tasty - and there was a second hand Bosch pump on e-bay when I looked yesterday, hopefully this would fit without too much grief?

Depends if you have all the kit to time the pump to the engine. It is NOT just a bolt-on item.

If it's GRX, certainly worth someone's time to consider.

Looks nice (then)... wonder what it's like now :?:

If the problem is a leaking throttle spindle on a Lucas pump, I did a repair for BarnsleyBXer a couple of months ago, this was his problem too.
We ordered a new repair kit (cost about £45 from memory) came complete with new pump top and took about 45mins to do.

Does look like a really nice example and I'm certain will bring a really good price if it's allowed to go on ebay.

The leak that I had from my Bosch pump was unfortunately 'round the back' and though only a minor seal, required quite a bit of sweat to remove the pump to access it. Hope it's as Ken suggests above..

BX 17TZD Estate........Apologies

Post by [email protected] »

.....for not giving specific instructions on how to get to the pix, a glitch which I believe has now been explained, above.

The car is in Gloucester and is fully mobile.
Also the heater control is U/S, but I have bought another, and it is ready to fit.

The Estate still looks as good as it does in the previous pictures, and is open to offers.....it would seem to make sense if you talk to me direct on 07980.509955.

I am obviously not looking to re-coup all my money !

Hi Paul

Looks a great car and I'm certain will sell on here. But I'd remove the phone number if you can, or ask the mods to do it for you.

Give the spammers a bit less to do.
