Reason i ask about the washer, i think its been leaking, so wanted to replace it.
If it is every 24k, then mine is overdue
Is the Total stuff worth the extra money?

Could just me being anal about oil changes but the Haynes manual should say for certain. Pretty sure the drain plug is the same size as the filler (22mm? socket size). Some people fill via the breather on the top until the level reaches the hole on the side, whatever's easiest for them.
TBH I've never noticed a difference between (non Total) oil brands, so long as they meet the viscosity and specifications. The only time I've noticed a difference after a change is when I did it after first getting the car, which suggests it was overdue then and I'm now keeping on top of it. That said, after 205k miles the synchro on 2nd is weak so it is still wearing out. Got a new 'box to put in though

Cheers, i'll check to make sure my socket set has one that size, i've only got a cheap set which does probably 90% of most things, except for the 10% that i usually need to use it for 
From memory also, isn't there another drain plug nr to the one that you can't see in your piccy which is a deffo nono for touching? If so, whereabouts is that located in relation to the one i'm supposed to unscrew?
I bet if you were here to show me, it would take 2 ticks & i'd know what to look for, so apologies, i just don't want to fxxk anything up, which for me can be easily done
